How We Met.
We met through our darling mutual friend, Laura Busby (read more about her here). Laura and Rachel met when Rachel moved to Dallas in September 2009, and they quickly became the closest of friends. James and Laura attended Harding University and had so many adventures together while in college.
James was living in Tallahassee, Florida, when he and Rachel met in February 2011, but he happened to travel to Dallas, where Rachel lived, for a sales meeting. He called Laura to get a group of friends together for lunch; Laura, in turn, invited Rachel. James and Rachel had so much chemistry that someone asked them if they were engaged - and they had only just met! (Rachel even posted on her blog about meeting James - you can read it here.) When James was in the airport that evening, he told his co-worker, Tyler (read more about him here), that he knew that he was going to marry Rachel. After months of exchanged phone calls and another visit to Dallas, we made our relationship official on July 1st, 2011. James moved to Dallas later that fall, and the rest is history...
Rachel is the Director of Project Development for the Touch A Life Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing long-term rehabilitative care for children rescued out of slavery in West Africa and Southeast Asia. James is a Senior Clinical Specialist for Medtronic, the world's largest medical technology company. We love Texas and we hope to settle in the Lone Star State for years to come after we're married. Yeehaw!

Our Proposal.
James planned the most beautiful proposal for Rachel on Thursday, May 23rd, 2013. It involved café lights, a dock at White Rock Lake, chicken fajitas from Mi Cocina, red wine, flowers, and the most gorgeous bling that Rachel ever did see. You can read all about the proposal here.
Our super talented wedding videographer (and wonderful friend), Patrick Cone, hid in the bushes and caught the whole thing on film. You can check it out for yourself in the video below.
